"Yes, it's true. [slight pause] This man has no dick."
Ah, nothing like a quote from Bill Murray in Ghostbusters to lighten the mood.
Yes, I am being reassigned with under 40 days left in my deployment. No, I don't know what my new job for 30 days will entail. No, I don't have confirmation that my redeployment wont be delayed. On the bright side, I get to hang out with all my IRR buddies for the next month and I will be doing something different, which should make the clock race towards my finish.

Something old, something new, something borrowed, someone blue. I'm glad you found a "bright side". My bright side is that we get to keep reading your posts and supporting you as best we can.
The IZ is sweet dude, I mean like totally sweet! Actually it's kind of a drag, and "kind of a drag" implies it's probably the best you're gonna get in Iraq, seriously.
I, too, am glad you found the bright side. Plus Bill Murray is hilarious.
Honestly, yes. I believe I am still a Clinton fan. I'm still learning though, so we'll see. :) Good luck with your remaining days.
Well at least you don't have to be a mess sergeant for your remaining days...you're commissioned!!! LOL
Take care and laugh a little more Jason!
The rumor is they can't keep you IRR guys forever. I of course will believe it when I see it, but I am cautiously optimistic that you get home on schedule. From our research, its really really hard to extend IRR orders and they recently tried for one of our friends (who will not deploy until March and is supposed to demob in November) and they were denied. So thats something.
Good for you. Come up to Boston when the weather turns & I'll buy you and the Mrs. a beah and some chowda. (I'm a pretty good tour guide also.)
Your post, Bill Murray, gave me a smile. We are anxious for you to get home, too.
Seems like the time passes slowly when you are a short-timer.
Thanks for posting.
